Decide whether the end date counts

Date spans use one of two conventions. Elapsed time excludes the end date, so January 1 to January 2 is one day. Inclusive counting counts both calendar dates, so the same span is two days. The calculator defaults to elapsed time; enable “Include end day” when both dates should count, such as attendance or event-day totals.

How each duration is calculated

Years, months, days — calendar decomposition (Jan 15 → Mar 10 = 1 month, 23 days), borrowing across month boundaries.
Total days / weeks / hours / minutes — the raw units for forms and spreadsheets.
Business days — Monday–Friday count with the weekdays toggle.
% of a year — the span as a fraction of 365.25.
Weekends — roughly how many Saturdays-and-Sundays fit inside.

When date-counting conventions matter

Inclusive and exclusive counting can produce different answers for notice periods, accommodation stays, event schedules and filing windows. The calculator includes February 29 whenever it falls inside the selected span. Public holidays are not removed from business-day results, so official deadlines should be checked against the applicable rules.

How many days between two dates?

Enter start and end — you get total days (end excluded by default), plus years, months, weeks, hours and minutes.

What does "include end day" change?

Jan 1 → Jan 2 is 1 day normally, 2 with the toggle. Use it when both days count, like event days.

How are business days counted?

Monday–Friday between the dates (endpoints excluded). Holidays aren't subtracted.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes — real calendar counting, so spans across February 29 are exact.
