The language of flowers 🌼
Birth flowers come from floriography — the Victorian-era practice of assigning meanings to flowers so bouquets could carry messages words couldn't. The tradition drew on older Roman, Greek and Asian symbolism. Like birthstones, the lists settled into a primary and secondary flower per month, with small variations across cultures. That's why a March baby gets both the daffodil (rebirth — spring's trumpet) and the jonquil.
