Privacy policy: Age Calculator for Android
Your data stays on your device.
Last updated 20 August 2026. Applies to Age Calculator for Android, version 1.0.
The short version
Age Calculator performs every calculation on your device and never sends your saved birthdays or preferences to us or to any server. The app is free and supported by advertising served by Google AdMob: a banner on the home screen and occasional interstitial ads at natural break points. The app contains no analytics and no crash-reporting SDKs.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following only in its private storage on your device (Android SharedPreferences), and only if you use the related feature:
- Your own birthday details (name and date of birth) if you complete the optional onboarding step.
- Saved birthdays you add for friends and family: a name, a date of birth, a reminder preference and how many days in advance you want to be reminded.
- Preferences such as language, theme, animations, haptics, celebration effects and reminder time.
- An internal reminder log that records which reminders already fired, using internal identifiers rather than names, trimmed automatically each year.
We cannot see your data
All of the above lives in the app's sandboxed storage on your phone. We have no server, no account system and no way to access, read or receive any of it. Google AdMob handles ad delivery data (such as the advertising identifier) under Google's own privacy policy, based on the consent you give in the consent form.
Permissions
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): requested only if you turn on birthday reminders, on Android 13 and later. The app works fully if you decline.
- Boot completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): only to re-schedule local reminder alarms after a restart, update or clock change.
- Internet (INTERNET) and network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): only to load ads from Google AdMob.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): read by the ad SDK to select and measure ads, subject to your consent choice.
The app uses no location, contacts, camera, microphone or storage access beyond its own private files.
Birthday reminders
Reminders are scheduled with Android's AlarmManager and WorkManager and delivered as local notifications generated on your device. You can turn them off per person or for the whole app in Settings.
Sharing results
The share feature renders a result image on your device and passes it to the Android share sheet. You choose the receiving app, whose own privacy policy then applies.
Backups and deletion
The app supports Android's standard backup options, controlled by your device settings. Uninstalling the app removes all its data from the device.
Children's privacy
The app requires no account and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Advertising
A banner appears at the end of the home list, and an interstitial ad may appear after deliberate actions such as calculating a result or sharing a card: never on launch, never while you are typing, and never more often than every 90 seconds. In the EEA, UK and other regions with consent requirements, the Google UMP consent form asks for your choice before ads are personalised.
